Litter Choice is a Touchy Subject

Worlds Best Cat Litter Guest post by our sponsors and friends at World’s Best Cat Litter

Ever pause to think about why cats are so picky when it comes to climbing in a litter box?

While there are undoubtedly numerous answers, one is … well … their paws.

Most of us know that a cat – whether it is a tiger or a tabby – has sharp vision, great balance, and a highly developed sense of smell. Cats of all shapes and sizes also have a great sense of touch and one of the most sensitive areas on a feline are the pads that grace the bottom of their front paws!

Cats use their paws to literally feel out different situations, and their pads are one of their primary tools in judging their surroundings. Hmmm…no wonder why some cats don’t approve when you touch their paws.

An Animal Planet article on a cat’s sense of touch notes feline paw pads are loaded with touch receptors that are hypersensitive to texture, temperature and density. A cat’s paw pads are the only place that produce sweat!

Some researchers say a cat’s sense of touch is so sensitive that they can pick up the minute vibrations preceding earthquakes, so you can imagine how they react to different textured cat litters. What may seem like a slight change to you, can feel huge to your feline friend!

If your cat is turning up his nose at your litter choice, it might have as much to do with its feeling about the product as its opinion on the smell.

World’s Best Cat Litter ™ is designed to meet the standards of felines and their owners and has a soft texture that is easy-on-the-paws and tough on odor. Cat’s love to dig and cover with it!

How does your cat feel about the litter you’ve chosen for him?

Sincerely,
World’s Best Cat Litter™

I actually use The World’s Best Cat Litter and both myself and my 2 fur kids love it. I will never switch back to anything else. In fact, I have it delivered automatically every 2 months so that I don’t have to worry about running out. Much less smell and less dust all over everything. It is wonderful.

I have just adopted two unrelated one-year-old cats who are still acting like kittens and have bonded so closely it appears they’re joined at the hip. My old cat, who passed away in March, was very small and neat and suffered from colitis, so while she attempted to always get to the litter box on time, sometimes she couldn’t help but have “accidents” along the way. But, when you love someone, you put up with their problems. . .especially if you have suffered with a similar problem! However, things are different now with my two youngsters and I was overwhelmed at the different amount of “used litter” being produced! I switched to World’s Best Litter because I like the idea of it being flushable (keeps me from having to take bags of litter to my work dumpster) and it clumps so easily and quickly. Smokey and Mandy have taken completely to their “ecologically correct” litter! This is definitely the way to go! Thanks for making this product available–I’m a new life-long customer.

I love World’s Best Cat Litter as do my cats. Unfortunately my male cat wants to eat it. That’s understandable considering it is corn. The problem is he still wants to eat it after it has been used! Has anyone else reported this problem?

We used to always buy the multiple World’s Best Cat Litter since we have three cats. Recently, we changed to the single cat type because it is cheaper for us, the store is closer and there was a gift card given by Target for buying two bags. I have two things to say. 1. My senior cat has been going on the floor again, if the litter isn’t almost pristine. 2. The odor is not a bit pleasant. We are going back to the multiple type again. The single cat strength does not work as well. Why is that? It seems to me that, no matter what the strength, it should be odor blocked. There is a huge difference between the two.
