I love my problem child.
I just had to share this wonderful comment I received yesterday from a new reader who remembers her cat, Fasha, who peed all over the house.
After ruling out medical problems, Fasha’s family tried everything experts suggest to do: change box locations, litter, everything. In the end, Fasha’s mom says she just ignored Fasha, cleaned up the pee and then went on with her day. She says she got really good at getting rid of the smell!
But, miraculously, when her mom stopped making a big deal over the um, indescretions, Fasha eventually stopped peeing on everything.
But the end of Fasha’s mom’s comment really got me, because it mirrors my feeling about my own pee cat, Romeo. I’m sure many of you feel the same way too:
“She just passed away last month…I would gladly have that peeing problem again, if that means she is back sleeping on top of the tv.
This just shows you, even the most problematic cat can leave a big hole in your heart when they’re gone. Sorry this is a long comment. Sometimes I miss her.”
Sigh. We understand, don’t we?
Have a good weekend, friends.

I agree emphatically!
What would we do without the maluorlevs tips you talk about on this blog? Who comes with the fortitude to deal with essential topics with regard to common readers like me? My spouse and i and my guys are very lucky to have your website among the kinds we regularly visit. We hope you know how very much we value your hard work! Best wishes from us all.
agreed. i should take stock in Natures Miracle and the worlds best cat litter…along with those pet granules i bought two weeks ago (they work amazing). I would NEVER give up my babies.
What a beautiful post and so very true. Sometimes you just have to live with the problem and love ‘em anyway.
The granules I mentioned are called “Clear the Air” The people who owned the home before us had a schnauzer. The rugs looked clean but the room we gave my mom began to smell musty when it got hot out…so we decided to shampoo the rug..big mistake..it just released the dog indescretion smells..and prompted one of our cats to pee on the rug…it went through to the wood floor and no matter how hard i tried to clean with natures miracle it got into the wood. I pulled up the rug, and spread the granules..left it two days and vacuumed it. It still smelled slightly so i did it again…it was a miracle..it kept me from having to replace the floorboards…the stuff is GREAT for getting any smells out..just put it in a stocking and tie a knot in it, and put it where you need it..it sucks in all the “stinkies”! I know there are other brands, i just happened to get this one at Petco because the can had a bonus amount and was on sale…worked FANTASTIC!
I can relate so well to this article. I had a cat–Harpo the wonder Cat, who always had a problem peeing on dirty clothes and bedding. For years people told me I should “just get rid of the problem”. I used to answer–”Would you get rid of your child if you couldn’t potty train them?”. To me it was the same thing. You adapt–you clean up and you love them. Harpo passed almost 2 years ago and not a day goes by that I wouldn’t love to be cleaning up his pee again. Unconditional love does not mean “except if you do something I don’t like!!!!
