Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Litter

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat LitterI get a lot of reader questions about what’s the best cat litter and honestly, at the end of the day, it depends on your cat and your situation.

I can tell you, however, that if you have a cat who needs some encouragement to get back to the litter box, many people swear by Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat litters.

In particular, Cat Attract is a product that contains a blend of herbs designed to draw cats into the litter box.

Precious Cat is privately owned by Dr. Elsey and also includes other products like a low-dust Respiratory Relief litter, a formula just for long-haired cats, a kitten formula and more.

Precious Cat, knowing that many cats in shelters have pee issues, donates a lot of litter to shelters and rescue groups across the country.

Two people I’ve featured here on HLB count Cat Attract as a factor in their success getting their cat back to the box…you can read Cesare’s story here and Scrubby’s story here.

Experts like one of our Litter Box Mentors, Tracie Hotchner, also recommend Cat Attract for problem cats. Tracie is the author of the Cat Bible and the Dog Bible and the host of Cat Chat® and Dog Talk® radio shows. And she’s dedicated to the well being of all pets.

  1. I’m one of those who swears by Dr Elsey’s. Precious Cat Litter IS the best litter I’ve ever tried. I just recently started using it, and it has absolutely no dust, no cloying perfumes, and it clumps the best of any litter we’ve used.

I’ve tried to migrate away from clay litters for environmental reasons, but my cats don’t like non-clay litters, even when I transition them by adding 3 molecules of the new litter to their box each day. But the dust from clay litter was becoming a health concern, so I searched for something that was truly dust-free, and that’s how I happened upon Dr Elseys. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

    Get those entries in, kittehs!

  2. I foster cats for a local rescue and have used your products in the past. I use Kitten Attract when I have a litter of kittens that are starting to use the litter box. Also with my last litter I had a little male kitten, he was the first of the litter to use the litter box and never have any problems. He was adopted out to a young woman with another cat that didn’t like him and intimated him to the point that he stopped using the litter box and developed a UTI. Well long story short, he was given back to me. For the first couple of days, I confined him to one room, with Kitten Attract and in no time he was using the litter box again. He is now in a super nice home and has not had an incident since.
